INTERNAL ASSESSMENT
The Academic Council of Dibrugarh University has approved the introduction of INTERNAL ASSESSMENT for the T.D.C. (Science, Arts, Commerce) courses with effect from the session 2006-07. This internal assessment would be applicable only the students admitted from the session 2006-07 onwards. It is expected that the introduction of Internal Assessment would help the colleges to improve the quality of curriculum transaction at the First Degree Level further.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT FOR ARTS & SCIENCE STUDENTS
- The marks allotted for Internal Assessment in each Theory paper with more than 60 marks shall be based on the following :
i) Attendance
ii) Sessional Examination
iii) Home assignment
- The distribution of marks shall be as follows :

- Home Assignment and Sessional Examination shall be conducted for 50 marks each and the marks secured by the candidates shall be converted against the marks allotted for the purpose at (2) above.
- The sessional examination shall be of one hour duration and shall be conducted by the concerned teacher(s) of the paper and shall be conducted by the concerned teacher(s) of the paper. The teacher concerned shall fix the date of the sessional examination in each paper.
- There shall be no provision for “repeat”, “betterment”in the sessional examination. If a student misses any sessional examination for unavoidable reasons then the concerned teacher may allow the student a separate examination with the approval of the Principal of the college.
- Each sessional examination for a particular paper shall be of one-hour duration even if more than one teacher teaches it.
- Student appearing as Private shall have the provision to answer a separate question for the marks allotted to Internal Assessment for the theory paper.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT FOR COMMERCE STUDENTS
(Applicable for the students admitted into TDC 1st Yr Com Class from 2007-08 )
1. Each paper shall comprise of a total 100 marks of which 70marks shall be for End- Term B. Com Part I / II / III Examination and 30 marks forInternal Assessment.
2. Components and distribution of marks for Internal Assessment for all the papers shall be as follows:
i. Sessional Examination I ( 10% marks ) 10 marks
ii. Sessional Examination II ( 10% marks ) 10 marks
iii. Seminar / Group Discussion ( 5% marks) 05 marks
iv. Attendance ( 5% marks ) 05 marks
