GENERAL RULES FOR MAINTENANCE OF DISCIPLINE
- Special emphasis is laid on discipline and character building in students. They are expected to maintain a standard of discipline. A ‘DISCIPLINE SUBCOMMITTEE’ looks after the college discipline.
- Students of college must abide by the rules and regulations prescribed by the college authorities. Violation of rules, irregular attendance, discourtesy to the teachers and staff members, use of physical force, use of filthy and obscene language, willful damage of institutional property will incur strict disciplinary action.
- RAGGING in any form in hostels and in the college campus is strictly prohibited. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has directed that ragging be banned from all educational institutions. Ragging has been made a cognizable offence and may attract imprisonment and / or fine. Ragging has been defined as: “ Any act causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of a practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his/her personality or exposes him/her to ridicule or forbears from doing any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holding out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, injuring injuring or the use of criminal force.” The college always strives to foster a strong vibrant and warm relationship amongst the senior and junior students. Proper disciplinary action shall be taken is a student is found indulging in ragging. Every student will be required to sign an undertaking that the student will desist from indulging in ragging.
- Students must come to their classes in proper college uniform.
- Breach of discipline may lead to expulsion / rustication from the college.
- The hair of male students must be properly trimmed and decent. No male student will be allowed to stay in the college campus wearing ear-rings and other objectionable items.
- Use of cellphone is strictly prohibited inside the college campus. Students found guilty of using cellphone within the college campus will be liable to a fine of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only).
- All powers for maintenance of discipline are vested with the Head of the Institution and his decision shall be final in all such matters
IDENTITY CARD After admission, every student will be issued an identity card. The card is valid for one year only (i.e. till the end of session).If the identity card is lost by student, then a duplicate identity card will be issued by the college on receiving an application from the student and on payment of Rs. 100/- in the college office.
N.B. : No. Every student will have to enter the college campus with his / her identity card properly displayed.
COLLEGE UNIFORM
1. Uniform for girls: Muga or muga coloured mekhala, white chadar with sky blue border and white blouse. Or White saree with sky blue border and white blouse Or Sky blue kamees and white salwar 2. Uniform for boys: Black trousers and white shirt
Note: T-shirts and Jeans pant are not allowed. 3. Additional uniform for winter season: For girls: Navy blue cardigan / navy blue woolen blouse/ sweater For boys: Gray sweater N.B. Wearing of college uniform during the session is mandatory for each student.
ATTENDANCE RULES: 1. A student must attend a minimum of 75% of the classes held during the academic session to appear in the examination as a Regular candidate.
2. A student having an attendance percentage of 60% to less than 75% will be allowed to appear in the examinations as Non-Collegiate student on payment of non-collegiate fee.
3. AHSEC/Dibrugarh University rules will be adhered to in this regard.
